Some Fun Things in Feburary

With all that has gone on this month, we have managed to get some fun things in, in Feburary.  We took the kids to Jungle Jims earlier in the month and the kids had a blast.  Colin even saw his friend, Tommy, from school there.  They ran from one ride to the next and even got some climbing (aka wiggles) out on the slide and tubes section.
Just last week we took the kids to Airbourne again.  They have been asking to go back there.  So, we took them there after the great job they did on Saturday at the funeral.  They had so much fun, I got to try out our new camera on the action setting.  It was a lot of fun, but very crowded.
Yesterday, Bri and I went trail running with our friends Lynn and Jim, on Antelope Island.  We had a great time, even if our adventure was in 30+ MPH winds and cold.  While we were running the kids went with Neeners and Grandpa Garry to take pictures around the Island.  We all had a great time yesterday. Family

Yesterday, was Papa Lynn's funeral.  As you can imagine, we were able to see lots of family members that we have not been able to see in quite some time.  I know I did not get everyone, but I got most people I think.

Some Treasures

Over the past couple of days, as we have been getting ready for my grandfather's funeral we have come up with some treasures of pictures.  I loved them so much I thought I would post some of them to the blog, so they will one day go into a book for my kids.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day this year, was a little lower key then planned.  I had big ideas for this fun holiday, but since I was up with Papa Lynn yesterday, those plans did not pan out.  However, we did have a nice day.  I made the kiddos pink heart pancakes, which was a big hit.
This afternoon, Coli's class had a Valentine's Day program that was so cute.  After Bri got home from work, we all had a Valentine's gift to open.  The kids and I each got a book and a movie.  Bri got a shoe rack.  I know, not traditional Valentine's Day gifts, but more practical than stuffed animals and candy.
For dinner, Bri treated us to dinner out.  Which was a good time.  It is always a nice treat to not have to cook dinner.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

We'll be Seeing You

The world lost a good man today.  My grandfather (I blogged about him here) passed away very peacefully with loved ones surrounding him.  I was so lucky to be present and hold him as he crossed over.  After 14 1/2 years of being separated from the love of his life he gets to spend Valentines day with Mama Mary.  He also gets to celebrate a fabulous birthday on the 16th of this month.  This day is a bittersweet one, I will miss that man, but I am so glad he does not need to suffer or miss Mama Mary any more.  Papa Lynn, I love you! Enjoy your flight!

She is a STINKER!

I have often told people that Audra is the one giving me grey hair.  My aunt, who is a hairstylist, was cutting my hair a few months back and informed me that I now have more grey hair than my mom.  I tell her that is due to Audra.  Now, don't get me wrong, I love Audra Lynn to pieces.  However, she is the one who pushes my buttons, often to the limit.
Now the other night, the whole family was folding and putting laundry away.  Lynnie came back into the living room and with both Bri and I in the room starts to draw on the walls with a pencil.  Good news is it is just a pencil.  So, I told her that she would have to clean the wall.  She is one little stinker.

Airborne

Yesterday, I was on a mission, to get the walls washed.  Now, nobody likes washing walls, but it is a fact that it needs to be done especially with 3 little ones running around.  I told the kids that they were going to help me and at first they thought this was fun, but as the time went on the less fun it was.  After lunch, Bri put the kids down and said that because the kids did so well he wanted to do something fun.  He had a friend tell him about a place called "Airborne," so we thought we would give that a try.
When the kids got up we told them that we were going to do something fun.  As we were walking out the door, Bri told them were we were going.  They were very excited.  We got there and purchased the wristbands and got jumping.  It was so much fun.  We jumped in the small kids area for a while, then they were ready to try the big kid areas.  We then tried the big tramps and they loved it.  Then we went to the pit were they could jump off the tramp into foam blocks.  And even jump off a ledge into the blocks.  Both Coli and Audra slid into the pit, but on the last try Coli actually jumped and love it.  Bri and I even loved it Airborne, and had a great time.  It really was a great time and we look forward to going there again soon.

Feelin' Crafty

This past week, I was looking for something to hang our running medals on.  I found one that was a board with 9 hooks and said "Running Medals."  I sent the picture to Bri and told him I wanted to do something along those lines.  He said he thought it was too big and that he would only want something with 1-2 hooks.  I then said why don't we just put the word run on there with 3 hooks and he said "that would work."  I then told him that I think his mom and Lynn needed one too, so I was going to make 4 total.  Well, after a trip to The Wood Connection, I found the perfect boards.  Then the kids and I went to Lowes to find the hooks.  I got in touch with my friend Adawna and she helped me find the perfect font and design for "run."  I worked on them a little all week and finally finished today.  I am so excited.  I think these will do the trick.
While at the Wood Connection, I found a "U" for the University of Utah, so I purchased this.  I had originally thought of putting this in the living room.  However, Bri suggested I put it in the kids room for Coli.  This made Coli so happy he bugged me all week to finish this too.  So, this morning I also finished his U.  He now has it displayed in his room and he thinks it is so cool.

It has been so nice having some time to work on fun little crafts this week.  I love the therapy of crafts, in fact, I purchased a large U just yesterday for the front door.  So, I have my next project all worked out.  :)
