Eclipse

Can I say this was the best of the 3 shows so far. The acting was better, they had more details in this movie. IT WAS FABULOUS!! Mom has a friend at work who's apart of a fundraising group and so we had tickets to the 5:15 show the day before it comes out. So, we bought our tickets way in advance and have been anxiously waiting for this day. I found out last week that So Cupcake has Twilight themed cupcakes so, I got 3 Jacobs (being the chocolate) and 3 Edwards (the white sparkly). I got a team Edward shirt, while mom and Lindsey got team Jacob. Jocelyn unfortunately, had to move back to California and forfeit her ticket, so Kel (my other mom) joined us instead, she was a team Edward with me. My cousin Sara was suppose to go but no showed on us, oh well her loss. I really had a great time and it was sooooooooo fun to go with the gals and watch Eclipse. I can't wait to see it again, who knows, I might be going back to the movies to see it, but will for sure be buying it.

Slip N Slide

Sunday, we were looking for a good family activity. Brian suggested we get a slip n slide and let the kids go down it. So, Bri and Grandpa got it all set up. Colin said he would not go down it. So, trying to show the kids what to do and get them down it, Bri and I went down. I will be honest, standing at the top of the slide looking down is quite daunting, as I am a whole lot taller then I was when I used to go down the slide. Coly never really went down it well and Audra screamed bloody murder, but at least Bri and I had fun.

Colin's Garden

Yesterday, we were over at NeeNers and Grandpa's house and Colin got to help plant a couple square foot gardening boxes. You see a couple weeks ago grandpa mentioned to Colin that they could plant some carrots and ever since Colin has wanted to plant carrots. So, yesterday Colin planted carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and 2 squashes. He had so much fun putting together his little gardens.

Audra and Lydia

About 2 years ago, I was talking to my cousin Kristen. We were talking about expanding our families and that we were wanting that to happen pretty soon. We said that it would be fun to be pregnant together and if the kids were born close together, so that they would have a friend. In September 2008, I saw Kristen at Lindsey's shower and we both were still not pregnant. When we parted that day, we both said at the same time "let me know." Well, in October I found out I was pregnant (YAY!). I emailed Kristen and never heard anything back. So, I was nervous to bring the subject up to her. Well, in early November, I found out that Kristen too was pregnant. So, our wish had come true of being pregnant together and the kids would be born close together.

Well, when I saw her in November we were talking about the pregnancies and I found out that she never received my email and she was nervous to contact me, because it had taken so long to get pregnant the first time. I also found out that Kristen was due June 16, 2009, and my due date was June 20, 2009. You couldn't ask for a closer time for cousins to be born. Later in January, we found out we were having a girl. Kristen and her hubby decided not to found out as this was their 3rd child and they had already had both a boy and a girl. Well, May came along and we were talking, Kristen told me that she had gone 2 weeks early with her other 2 and was sure that would be the case for this one. She then also told me that she thought the baby was a boy. I told her that I wanted it to be a girl, so the two could play and be close. Her hubby then assured me that it was a girl. Well, June came and on Jocelyn's 2nd wedding (the retake) Kristen came and was still pregnant. We were both sooo ready to have our babies. She said that she was not going to induce and that she was going to wait it out, I told her that my induction was one week away. We told each other we would keep one another informed and went our separate ways. Well, on that following Saturday, I was nesting getting ready for Audra, and I started having contractions, they were close together and painful. I got to the hospital and they monitored me and sent me home, stating I was just having Braxton Hicks -grrr. Later, I found out that Kristen too had been in the hospital with contractions, to find out that she was dehydrated. So, Wednesday the 17th came, I went to the hospital and gave birth to our beautiful little girl. I still had not heard from Kristen, later I text her with the news of Audra and she informed me that she had set an induction date on the following Monday. On the 19th, I was packing and getting ready to go home, when I found out, that Kristen had gone into labor early that morning and had given birth and to a little girl, Lydia. WOW! You could not have planned having 2 babies so close together if you tried. I was amazed that all had worked out sooo well.

Well, we have seen Kristen and Lydia several times in the last year, but the were just here yesterday, Kristen was getting help on a milk allergy that Lydia is experiencing. The 2 girls were playing and being friends, just like they had know each other forever. I have this feeling, that in fact they may have been very good friends in the pre-life and now are friends here on earth too. But I wanted to post the pictures of the girls playing yesterday. Just so you know what is going on, Audra is trying to help Lydia put her Binky back in her mouth.

Audra's 1st Birthday Party

Today, we celebrated Audra's first birthday. I had stayed up last night baking, wrapping and trying to make everything perfect for her first birthday. (Like she knows any different.) This afternoon we went over to Bri's folks place, as we were using their home for the party. It was a cute princess and ice cream themed party. Very pink and purple ( I loved it). She was spoiled rotten by her family. The guests included grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins.

Audra had her very own "smash" cake, and it didn't take long for her to catch on to the idea of eating the delicious little cake in front of her. She was such a disaster. But I think she had a good time. Colin blew out her candle and opened her presents for her as she was too busy with the wrapping paper and bows. Both kids fell asleep in the car on the ride home. When we got out, I was holding Lynnie and Coly's hand, I said to Lynnie I hope you had a good birthday. Colin told me he had a good birthday, I thought that was pretty cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER!

Bear Lake

My sister Lindsey was given a week stay at a Condo at Bear Lake, by my cute Aunt Tammy. So, she invited us up for a few days. Unfortunately, Bri had to stay back for work and school work. I took the kids and we headed up with NeeNers, GG, and Aunt J. We got there Wednesday, had a good dinner and then we watched "When in Rome." Thursday, was Audra Lynn's 1st birthday. However, since Bri was unable to join us, I made the promise that there would be no celebrating without him. So, we saved that for tomorrow. I took the kids down to make sand castle's in the beach, it was sooo cold. We played for a little bit, but then decided it was too cold and headed back in. The kids had quiet time, while Mom, Grandma and I went into Paris, ID, we walked around a little antique shop and brought back the best orange rolls, I have ever had. We then spent some good time together. Today, we came back to SLC and of course the weather was nice. But we had a good little trip up to Bear Lake.

The kids 1st pedicure

This evening we were at my mom's house, just waiting for Bri to get back with the dinner makings. Jocelyn started painting her nails, I stepped out of the room for a minute. When I got back Coly was asking to have his nails painted. I told him no. He started crying and telling me "stop mom" and "be nice mom." It made me sad that I had hurt his feelings over something so little as paint. So, I told him he could have his toes painted. So, Aunt J painted his toes and he loved it. Then he insisted that Lynnie have her toes painted too. So, Aunt J being a trooper, painted Lou's toes too. Here are the results of their very first pedicures.

My First Race

A couple months ago, my dear friend Lynn ran the Salt Lake Half Marathon and she ran the entire race and did well. My friend is someone like me, we enjoy many of the same things, and have similar values, but she is 20 years older then me. So, when she finished that race, she truly inspired me. I said to my husband, "If Lynn can do it, I can do it." I was not saying this negatively, I was saying it like "wow, she has shown me a path."
Now, Bri has been trying to get me to run for years, but he has not had the same effect as Lynn, however, he has been my biggest cheerleader. He has helped me get my run time in, he got me clothes that wick, and shoes so I don't hurt - well as bad. He has supported and cheered me on when I was discouraged.
And today, I ran my first race ever and I am PLEASED as punch with my results. I ran the Judgesrun 5K . The run benefits, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, specifically breast cancer. Anne Stirba, was a judge for the state of Utah and lost her battle with breast cancer. This was the 13Th year that they have had a race in her name, and I feel happy to have helped such a good cause.
I ran the race in 33:23, which is the best I have ever done, I even beat my goal of coming in under 36 minutes. As I came to the finish line, my mom, sister, step dad, and my darling kids were there at the finish line cheering me on, with posters and flowers. What a fabulous greeting to run too. I did miss seeing my biggest cheerleader, as he had to work today, but I had the largest cheering section of all the racers.
I just want to say Thank You to my cheering section, Lynn and my husband as they all have made my day a great one.

Sleep Over at Aunt Tammy's

About a month ago, my darling aunt Tammy called and stated that she wanted a girl's sleepover while my sister was in town. So, we set up this weekend to be the girls and babies sleepover at aunt Tammy's. Yesterday, we set out to Logan. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic and it took a really long time to get there.

When we arrived, aunt Tammy was ready for us. She had made chocolate cake, rice crispy treats, and planned the whole menu that was Coly safe. Then on top of that, she had 3 balls, one for each little person, small plastic picnic chairs that the kids loved, and bubbles. The kids had fun with there new balls and the large yard to play in. Once, Lindsey returned from the birthday party in Brigham, we had yummy burgers, chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet, salad and onion potatoes. We got the kids settled in and then watched chick flicks, we watched It's Complicated, and laughed so hard. We started Return to Me but did not make it through it. Aunt Tammy had also made margaritas, Lindsey and Jocelyn stated that they were some of the best margaritas they had ever had, so the 3 of them enjoyed those during the movies.
This morning, we awakened and breakfast was already cooking. Uncle Craig joined in this morning as he was in Garland volunteering at the Salmon fest last night. We had a yummy breakfast and then took the kiddos to 2 fun parks, they really enjoyed those. Then it was back to the house for lunch and bubbles. After, we talked for a little bit then it was time to get back to Salt Lake. I thoroughly enjoyed the time with my sisters and Aunt, it was good food and great company. The kids had burn out in the car, so I think they enjoyed as well.

Family Pictures

Two weeks ago, we headed over as a family to have pictures taken. Since, Jocelyn and Chris are moving to Texas and we don't know when we will be able to see them again we decided that we needed a new family picture. Plus, Carter and Audra weren't in the last one so it was time. Here are some of the results.

Look Who's Walking

Two weeks ago tomorrow, Audra took a brave pill and started trying to walk on her own. Before that, she would sit right down if you let go of her hand, she was not ready to walk and nobody was going to make her. Well, now she is walking so very well, and she is not even 1 year old yet. I suspect that by her birthday she will be cruising along, no problem.
