Movie in the Park

The kids have been wanting to go to a drive in movie.  However, my hubby feels like the Redwood Drive In, is not a safe place to take our family.  So we have not gone.  He said if we found a movie outside at a park or something that would be closer enough.  Well, one of our friends told us that Cottonwood Height Rec Center was playing Frozen in the Park.
Once she committed to going, I was game.  I got Elly tucked into bed and Bri stayed with her.  Carter was having a planned sleepover, so I grabbed the big kids and we went to the park to see Frozen.  It was so fun, they even had a Scales and Tales event before the movie started.  Plus, Cami was a rockstar mom and brought glow in the dark bracelet/necklace kits.  The kids had a blast.  Carter and Lynnie both fell asleep, but it really was a fun night with the bigs!

A Day at the Museum

This past weekend, Brian was feeling really bad.  In fact, he went to the doctor and was told that he had Bronchitis, a sinus infection, and a cracked rib.  So, I called Neeners and Grandpa to find out what they were doing for the day.  After so back and forth, the kids decided that going to the Museum of Natural History would be fun, especially since the museum was having a special bug event.
We ended up taking Carter Man too, since his mom was looking for a new home.  Which turned out to be great because, the kids love spending time with him.  The bugs were not as big of a hit as we were hoping, but we ended up spending over 3 hours at the museum.  I would dare say that they had a blast, especially at the end, when they played dress up.  It was a great way to spend the day.

Jump Around Utah

Yesterday, I took the kids to Jump Around Utah.  Our friends Dawn and Knox joined us for an afternoon of fun.  I was trying to squeeze in one more fun day before Coli goes back to school tomorrow.  I think we were successful.

The Great Salt Lake

On Friday, we had planned to take the kids to The wAirhouse because we had a coupon to jump for 2 hours for the price of one.  We had kept this a secret from the kiddos all week and they were excited to see what we had planned.  However, before we got started Grandpa Garry called and stated that he wanted to rent the pontoon boat up at Antelope Island and go out for dinner on the boat.  Once we had that determined, Brian decided that he wanted to paddle board with the kids before hand.
After jumping we headed up to the island.  Brian went out first of the paddle board and decided it was too slow to take both kids out in the time we had.  So, we exchanged the board for a Kayak and all 3 of them went out on an adventure.
When we got our 3 Kayakers back in, it was time for our pontoon boat adventure.  Grandpa and Neeners had brought dinner and Lindsey and Carter.  We had a nice cruise on the lake for about an hour, then a storm started to move in and we got off the lake.  It really was just a fun filled day.

Fourth of July!

For the Fourth of July, we planned to go to the Murray Fun Days Parade.  Neeners and Grandpa Garry went first thing in the morning to save us a great shaded spot on the parade route.  Aunt Lindsey and Carter came too, which was exciting because they had been in Florida for 3 weeks.

After the parade we took the kids to Neeners and Grandpa's to play on the slip'n'slide again.  Then we came  home and just hung out as a family.  That evening we drove down to the dentist office and watched the Holladay City Firework display.

Discover the Dinosaurs

After the race, we drove home so we could meet Popoes and Bana at Discover the Dinosaurs.  The display was cool, the dinosaurs were moving and large.  In fact, Lynnie asked if they were real.  I told her that they were robots and she was all set to go.  We walked thru the display and soon we were in the play area and boy oh boy did the kids have fun.  They went on inflatables, colored pictures, dusted for bones, rode dinosaurs.  It was some serious kid fun.  Then Bana and Popoes bought each kiddo a stuffed dino, which they haven't put down.  Thanks Popoes and Bana for the great time!!

Tulip Festival

Our Relief Society planned a trip to Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival.  The best part of all, they told us we were welcome to bring our kiddos, which made it possible for us young moms to go.  I ran through the Tulip Festival 2 years ago, but I have not enjoyed a nice stroll through the Tulip Fest.  IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!!  The flowers looked amazing.  It makes me wish my gardens looked like that.  The kids had so much fun running from one place to the other.  It was also nice to socialize with friends and get some warm sun on our skin.

Easter 2013

Well, this post is a little late as Brian left bright and early Monday, after Easter, for Arizona for 3 days and I had no way of posting.  We did however, have a very lovely Easter.  We had a little hunt here at our house before church, the kids found eggs in both the living room and downstairs in the toy room.  They each got a basket too.  After, we went to church while Brian went for his run.

When everyone was back together, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Easter lunch.  It was a nice lunch with an egg hunt there too.  The kids had a really good time.

We ended the day at Neeners and Grandpa's which had an egg hunt too.  Even us big kids went on an egg hunt.  We each got a $20 from the Easter Bunny.  It was a nice surprise.  We then had a nice dinner.
We got home and had to get Brian packed for his work trip, but we really did have a nice Easter.
