Camping at Sulpher

This year has been hard to get out camping. It has been too cold, too wet, too fast of rivers; so we have not gotten out. Bri took some time at the first of the year with the intent of camping during that time. So, when this past weekend was getting close Bri said, "we are going camping."

We convinced Neeners and Grandpa Garry to go with us. So, Friday afternoon, Mom and I took the kids and headed up the mountains earlier then the men, so we could get a good campsite. We tried so hard to get into MooseHorn, but unfortunately we were not able, we did get into Sulphur a few campsites down.

When we finally decided to settle one site, Lou was out of the car and her luvies were in the car. She started hanging on the car door handle saying "I want my luvies!" It made Mom and I laugh so hard.

Once Mom got back from getting the guys called, we started setting up the tent and camp. Soon, the men arrived and we finished setting everything up. That night we had hot dogs cooked in the fire and s'mores. The kids were having a great time. That night the kids did AWESOME! Coli crawled out of his sleeping bag, at 2:30 AM, I tucked him back into bed. He then decided at 6:30 AM to crawl into bed with us. We rolled over and slept until 8:00. When Bri and Coli couldn't sleep any longer. At this time, Mom came over and told us that there were 3 moose just across the way. There were 2 bulls and 1 cow, they were so beautiful.

After breakfast and clean up, we decided to go for a hike. We hiked up to Bourbon Lake. This was not an easy hike to do with kids, but the kids were troopers and we made it to the lake. It was so beautiful, seeing that was my favorite thing we did. The fish were jumping, the mountain was beautiful, and the kids were so glad to have a "rest."

By the time we made it down the hill, we were starving and tired. Everyone ate lunch and then had a little nap. That night we had Dutch oven Shepard's pie and s'mores.

During the night, it started to rain and everything got wet. So, the next morning, we started to tear down camp and everything was wet. It was such a bummer. So, when we got back and after we had to put everything back up, so that everything was not ruined. We had a great time and wished we had one more night up there. We are hoping to get out one more time before camping season is over.
