Summer is Here

After, a long, wet, cool spring, the summer temperatures have arrived and so has summer officially. This week Bri had to go out of town for work, so I got the kids out and about to get some summer fun in. On Thursday, Lindsey called and stated that Carter man wanted to play with Coly and Lynnie, we went over to their house and the kids got to run through the water spray from the fun water toy she bought. After, running and playing we enjoyed some Popsicles and then headed for our house. (Will post pictures if Lindsey ever gets them to me, hint hint Lindsey)
That evening, I called Cassie, as her hubby was with my hubby in Vegas. I asked if she wanted to take the kids for a picnic or something fun that evening. She stated that she had planned to ride Traxx down to Gateway and listen to the music and then play in the fountain. She invited us to go along. We met at the Traxx station and headed to Gateway. The music was nice while we ate our picnic, but after dinner it was not holding the kids attention. So, we went over to the fountain to let the kids play. Colin and Trenden loved the water and the steam, they both got very wet. Lynnie on the other hand was quite happy just to watch and be with me and Cassie. It was a great evening with the Washington's, we hope to go to Thanksgiving Pointe with them in the near future.
Friday, I need to go to Logan to pick up a buffet from my Aunt Tammy. My Uncle Bob died in April, so she has been responsible for cleaning out his home and getting things passed out to different family members. I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful buffet from his estate, which she took to her home in Logan. So Neeners, the kids and I drove up there early Friday afternoon, we enjoyed some lemonade on her deck and talked it was so nice. Unfortunately, the buffet didn't fit, so other plans were made to get the buffet down to me. Then Uncle Craig, who is a firefighter, took time to show the kids his firetruck and some of his gear. He let Coly try on his helmets too. Then he turned on his flashing lights and the siren which the kids loved. A big thanks to both Aunt Tammy and Uncle Craig for the time they took to show the kids the firefighting gear, help us out with the buffet and for the buffet.
Saturday, we went over to Grandma Debby's, where the kids got to play with squirt guns, run through the sprinklers and just enjoy being kids. Our first week of summer has been a fun one with lots of activities. I look forward to getting some more fun into our long days.
